Pupil Premium funding was launched by the Government in 2011 and is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between those pupils and their peers. Schools receive funding for pupils in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) or who have received FSM at any time during the previous six years, and for pupils who have left local-authority care.
One to one tuition
Individual pupils are removed from their class and given intensive tuition in maths or literacy skills for a specific period of time.
Additional small group maths support
A trained TA is trained to deliver specific support for the development of maths.
Family Fun Sessions
These sessions provide families the opportunity to participate in activities with their child/children on the school premises and spending quality time together. We encourage the families in receipt of PP funding to attend these sessions. The school funds the staffing and resources for these sessions.
Extra-curricular Activities
The school provides an opportunity to fully subsidies the cost of extracurricular clubs to enable pupils who receive Free School Meals to access the wider curriculum from Sports Coaches, dance clubs and Let’s Get Cooking. The school also funds the running of the Change for Life Club at lunch times which supports mainly our Pupil Premium pupils to get vulnerable pupils active.
School funds a lunchtime sports club once a week with a sports coach, to enable those pupils who do not have an opportunity to stay for extracurricular activities after school, with priority given to those in receipt of PP funding.
Inclusion competition
The school funds staff and transport, to escort pupils with additional needs to sporting competitions to enable them to participate in such activities that they would not normally have the opportunity to do so. Some of our PP pupils are classed as having additional needs. These are attended at least 6 times per year.
Support for Residential visit to Borwick
The school provides an opportunity for the cost of the residential trip to Borwick Hall to be 60% subsidised for children who receive Free School Meals so that all children can access the wider curriculum opportunities through a residential school trip.
Effective feedback
Teachers are released from class to attend Conference Reviews and TAF meetings.
Holiday Club
Children receiving Free School Meals are supported in attending local holiday clubs as identified through Conference or TAF meetings.
Social Skills
2 TAs are trained to run in-house Social Skills Groups twice a week.

Staff Training And resources
TA training on specific SEN needs and conditions and how best to support our pupils.
Parent workshops
The school delivers workshops for parents on phonics, reading and maths. Equipment is given out to help support their children at home. School funds the cost of all resources provided and the staff to deliver the training.
Parent lunch
We invite all parents on a class rotation to lunch in the Autumn term. We fund the cost of the meal for families in receipt of Free School Meals. This enables our families to come into school in a relaxed atmosphere to share time with their child.
Uniform/Resources
In some instances, where there is a need identified, the school supports families in receipt of PP funding with uniform and other school essential resources.
Home Visits
The school places great importance on Home Visits as part of the induction process for all pupils. School funds the release of appropriate staff to carry these out.
